my good friend fell out of Paducah
by way of Monkeys Eyebrow (Kentucky)
they called us flyboys, we flew in the force
he was far better falling in love, now
he could charm a lady with a smile
and the blue shimmer in his eye
and they would fall fast and they would fall so hard
when there’s fire somebody gonna fry
they would soar and sail and make a jet trail
like a fairytale in clouds above
and make a hard landing every time
desire will never be love
he married four times before 25
Racing to find his desire
each time he came in too hot, lost all control
and crashed in a great ball of fire
One day love saw his plight
guided him and his flight
It was then he learned the cure
and married one last time for sure
Now they soar and sail and make a jet trail
like a fairytale in clouds above
and make a great landing every time

to this day he has a happy home
couple grandkids orbit around him
life got pretty good, in a family neighborhood
raised three kids after love found him
one day, a crisp fall afternoon
napping and thinking about stuff
remembered the wife named desire
she never burn as hot as love
now they soar and sail and make a jet trail

and make a great landing every time
